Chef Jess started her culinary journey on the south side of Chicago where her passion for food was born in her Great Aunt Loretta’s kitchen. Aunt Loretta (whom she affectionately calls “B”) was very well-traveled and prepared food for the family from cultural cuisines far and wide. Soon Jess found her place, in the kitchen right beside B, where she submerged herself in lessons of cultural food, music, and cocktails. In December of 2012, Aunt B lost her battle with Leukemia. At her aunt’s bedside, Chef Jess promised to continue her culinary studies and to keep her aunts passion for food and family alive. Chef Jess is a graduate of The Art Institutes International Culinary School and is also a certified bartender.
Her love for wholesome food and family traditions is where the Chef Jess brand was born. Home is a place where love resides and memories are created.
